Instructions

  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix cocoa powder with warm water or milk until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, followed by half of the cocoa mixture; swirl gently with a knife. Repeat with remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
