  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce (divided)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cabbage: Boil salted water in a large pot. Peel and blanch about 10 cabbage leaves for 3-5 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Onions: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; sauté diced onions for about 5 minutes until soft.
  3. Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onions, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  4. Assemble Rolls: Place about 2-3 tablespoons of filling on each cabbage leaf near the stem end. Fold sides in and roll tightly.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread some tomato sauce in a baking dish and arrange rolls seam-side down.
  6. Bake: Pour remaining sauce over the rolls, cover with foil, and bake for approximately 45 minutes until heated through.
