  • 1 cup cooked short-grain rice
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz tomato sauce (no added sugars)
  • 1 cup sour cream (for serving)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Blanch the cabbage head for about 5 minutes until leaves soften. Remove leaves carefully.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  3. For each roll, place two tablespoons of filling on a leaf's base, then roll tightly while tucking in the sides.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread some tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange rolls seam-side down.
  5. Pour remaining sauce over the rolls and cover with foil. Bake for approximately 45 minutes until heated through.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving with dollops of sour cream.
