  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup fresh lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
  • Butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and tools (frying pan, knife, cutting board, spatula).
  2. Slice the sourdough bread into even half-inch thick pieces.
  3. In a medium-hot frying pan, cook bacon until crispy (about 5-7 minutes), then remove from pan.
  4. Layer one slice of bread with cheddar cheese, followed by cooked bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato slices, mozzarella cheese, and top with another slice of bread.
  5. Heat butter in the same frying pan over medium-low heat. Grill the sandwich until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  6. Once cooked through and cheese is melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly before slicing.
