  • 1 lb beef round steak
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Optional gravy: 1 cup milk, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp flour, salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the beef round steak in buttermilk for at least one hour.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour mixed with paprika, salt, and pepper in one bowl, and whisked eggs in another.
  3. Dredge each steak first in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned flour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded steaks for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. For optional gravy: In the same skillet, mix leftover oil with flour and milk over medium heat until thickened; season with salt and pepper.
