Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and lemon juice until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Remove salmon from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
