  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk and ¼ cup sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. 2. Prepare Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and remaining sugar. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter; stir until combined. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. 3. First Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. 4. Make Filling: Peel and dice apples. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  5. 5. Shape Rolls: Roll out dough into a rectangle (¼-inch thick). Spread softened butter over dough; sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture and diced apples. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  6. 6. Second Rise: Place rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. 8. Add Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with enough milk to reach drizzling consistency; pour over warm rolls.
  9. 9. Serve & Enjoy: Share these delightful rolls fresh from the oven!
