  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (canola or peanut)
  • 2 tbsp chopped scallions

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into uniform cubes.
  3. In a bowl, mix cornstarch and garlic powder, then toss the cubed tofu until evenly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry tofu cubes in batches for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
