Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices Black Forest ham
  • 8 oz Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place each chicken breast between plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Lay slices of ham and Swiss cheese on one side of each flattened chicken breast. Fold the other side over and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  4. Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour, another with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder. Dip each stuffed chicken first in flour, then egg, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  5. Arrange the breaded chicken on the baking sheet and drizzle lightly with olive oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
  6. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving with your favorite sides.
