  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add halved cherry tomatoes and cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Season with salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the drained rotini to the skillet, tossing everything together while adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a creamy sauce.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in fresh basil, then top with grated Parmesan cheese.
