  • 4 green bell peppers
  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the green bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, sauté chopped onions and minced garlic over medium heat until fragrant (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in cooked rice and half of the tomato sauce; mix well.
  5. Fill each pepper with the meat mixture, packing it tightly.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish, pour remaining tomato sauce over them, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, top with cheese, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
