  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • Fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, honey, lime juice, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish, pour the marinade over it, seal tightly or cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  3. Preheat your grill to 450°F (232°C) or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade (discard leftover marinade) and sear on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C) is reached.
  5. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
